Sacred Heart’s early history began in it’s original branch in La Loma, QC.

Sacred Heart Academy – La Loma (SHALL) which still stands today as the sister academy to Sacred Heart Academy – Novaliches (SHAN,) along with Sacred Heart Academy – Pasig (SHAP,) was founded by Louisa F. Kierulf in 1947, as a Sunday Cathecism school. The Academy eventually grew into a proper institution that offered pre-school, elementary, and secondary education.

By the late 1960’s and 1970’s, Louisa Kierulf’s daughter Josephine Kierulf  Zabarte and her husband Enrique Zabarte (seen above right) began development on what today is the Sacred Heart Academy of Novaliches. Founded officially in 1971, Sacred Heart Academy Novaliches or SHAN stands today as one of the foremost private educational institutions in both Novaliches and Northern QC.
